Composition:
Mometasone Furoate Monohydrate    Equivalent to Mometasone Furoate I.P. 0.05 % w/v
Benzalkonium chloride I.P.    0.01% w/v (as preservative)
Phenyl Ethyl alcohol U.S.P.    0.25% v/v (as preservative)

Indication:

  • Nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic and perennial allergic rhinitis, in adults and paediatric patients 2 years of age and older
  • The prophylaxis of the nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in adult and adolescent patients 12 years and older
  • In patients with a known seasonal allergen that precipitates nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis, initiation of prophylaxis with Momenta Nasal Spray, 50 mcg is recommended 2 to 4 weeks prior to the anticipated start of the pollen season

Description:

  • Momenta Nasal Spray, 50 mcg is a metered-dose, manual pump spray unit containing a suspension of micronized mometasone furoate monohydrate in an aqueous vehicle
  • It is a corticosteroid demonstrating anti-inflammatory properties. Corticosteroids have been shown to have a wide range of effects on multiple cell types (e.g., mast cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes) and mediators (e.g., histamine, eicosanoids, leukotrienes, and cytokines) involved in inflammation

Dosage:
As directed by physician

Adults and Children 12 Years of Age and Older:

  • The usual recommended dose of Momenta Nasal Spray for prophylaxis and treatment of the nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and treatment of the nasal symptoms of perennial allergic rhinitis is two sprays (50 mcg of mometasone furoate in each spray) in each nostril once daily (total daily dose of 200 mcg)
  • In patients with known seasonal allergen that precipitates nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis, prophylaxis with Momenta Nasal Spray (200 mcg/day) is recommended 2-4 weeks prior to the anticipated start of the pollen season

Children 2-11 years of age:

  • The usual recommended dose for treatment of the nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic and perennial allergic rhinitis is one spray (50 mcg of mometasone furoate in each spray) in each nostril once daily (total daily dose of 100 mcg)

Elderly:

  • No dosage adjustment is recommended
  • Improvement in nasal symptoms generally occurs within 2 days after the first dose. Maximum benefit is usually achieved within 1 to 2 weeks patients should use Momenta Nasal Spray only once daily at a regular interval
  • Prior to initial use of Momenta Nasal Spray, the pump must be primed by actuating several times until a fine spray appears. The pump may be stored unused for up to 1 week without repirming. If unused for more than 1 week, reprime until a fine spray appears

Directions for use:

  • Shake well before each use
  • Do not use longer than 2 months after opening the bottle
  • Read complete instructions carefully and use only as directed

Presentation:
Momenta Nasal Spray is supplied in a 10 ml bottles fitted with a metered dose, spray pump. It contains 100-metered doses each delivering 50 mcg of mometasone furoate monohydrate per actuation

Storage:
Store in a dry place at a temperature between 150 C and 300 C. Protect from ligh
